It’s almost winter here in southern Sweden! Well, at least the meteorological summer ended a couple of weeks ago… I have knitted myself a pair of mittens to be prepared for cold morning walks to campus. The pattern I was inspired by can be found here (Swedish only). I really enjoy this yarn. It’s Swedish and is called Big Trend by Marks & Kattens (#404).
I have also received some winter themed mail! This Christmas tree envelope is from dear Erica in Finland :) Love the priority sticker!
And Georgette in the US. She sent me a Mothman pendant and some Yeti stationery along with a lovely letter! :O <3
Stay warm and enjoy the winter season!
This is a slightly longer than usual letter that I wrote to Denise. The stamps with postal vehicles says “mail on its way”.
This envelope went to Joana in Portugal. I’m very happy with the colour matching of envelope and stamp :D
This cutesy envelope is for Johanna in Austria! I hope it reaches her safely :)
Last but not least, a letter for my dear friend Aiko in Japan, written on a gorgeous stationery designed by Julie.
Lately I have been doing a lot of crocheting. It’s very relaxing, and you can watch TV at the same time ;)
This is yet another triangular shawl that I have made for myself. This one is gray and black. If you’re interested in the pattern you can find it here. I really enjoy this pattern and can highly recommend it :) It’s the same that I used for a shawl to my friend Anny.
Then I am working on this little thing. It’s, as you can see, a granny square blanket! I have had a huge pile of over 100 granny squares lying in my bookshelf for quite some time now, and I finally decided to put them together. Now I only have some fastening of lose ends left to do :)
I also have this blanket going on! I am in love with it, but it’s really slow work. With some luck it will be finished during the winter 2015 (or at least that’s my plan ;).
I have also order pink, white and blue yarn for two cat plushes. I found this super nice charity project where they urge you to crochet a “Heart Cat” (Hjärtekatt) and send it to them. They will then distribute these cats among children who undergo heart surgery, as a friend during the hospital stay and memory of the surgery. If you want to read more about this you can find there website here (Swedish only)! I’ll post my Heart Cats on my blog when they are finished :)
Look at this cute package I got from my dear friend Aiko in Japan! My boyfriend and I had a lot of fun looking at these adorable edibles :D This package came as a big piece of surprise mail for me, and it contained a letter and some really fun and cute stationery! Aiko is such a sweet and generous friend! <3 I also love the food themed stamps!
I also got a super pretty letter from Denise in Canada! She wrote it in a rainbow of colours, and it put a smile on my face :) Yet another wonderful person I am happy to have gotten to know through letter correspondence.
Did you know I’m also penpals with Denise’s wife to be? I actually wrote with Julie in Canada first :) This package contained not only the most gorgeous stationery I bought from her blog, but also letter! :D And again: a lot of gorgeous stamps here!
My friend Yoshi in Austria sent me an adorable and chatty letter, delivered by sheep to my mailbox :) I will reply asap!
And lastly a postcard all the way from United Arabic Emirates!! :O It’s from my dear friend Katrin in Germany who is out on adventures. I will question her further about this in my next letter ;)
