Monthly Archives: December 2013

I am now home with my family and it’s such a bliss. The night before I went home I spent a few hours on wrapping this year’s Christmas gifts, and much fun was had! I usually go for a lot of colours, but this year I tried the old school style with hemp string and green wax seals.  I quite like it!

FlickYesterday I received this beautiful handmade Christmas card from Flick in Australia!  I love it :D

KatrinI have sent a letter to my friend Katrin in Germany. This is the reply to the last letter in my stack of incoming letters. What to do now? I’ve got the mojo but no one to write to. Maybe I should just use the writing mojo on my studies instead…? (nah!)

postitI bought these adorable sticky notes to use in my planner/notebook. Too cute to resist.

rubberstampsAnd I also got a alphabet rubber stamp set really cheap on ebay. I don’t mind that you can see the stamps’ edges, I kind of like it :D But it’s complicated to write when I don’t have å, ä and ö (very important Swedish letters ;). I’ll have to add the dots over a and o with a pen I guess. I plan to use these when I wrap Christmas gifts tomorrow <3 I love gift wrapping!

stampsAfter all the Christmas cards I sent I also had to restock on stamps. It’s nothing you haven’t seen on this blog before, except maybe the stamps with people from the royal family. I always complain about that Swedish stamps are all about the royal family, so, uh, I had to buy some.

I can’t wait to see the new postage designs for 2014! :D

Happy mail day and the smell of Christmas

Today I got two very pretty Christmas cards in my mail box! It always brights up my day to find something in there for me :) Especially when it’s from such lovely ladies as these:

DeniseThis is from my dear friend Denise in the US <3 I love the gorgeous colours of this card!

JulieAnd here’s a card from Julie, also from the US. I’ve never seen as cool a Christmas card such as this in Sweden!

I have put these cards on the fridge so they can remind me of my awesome friends all holiday season long!

till deniseHere is something that I put together for Denise for about a week ago. It’s a… book thing with random papers in it? I don’t know what to call it really, and I don’t think I had a clue what I was doing when I put it together, but it was fun making and I’ve heard it was a hit ;)

Today I posted the last Christmas cards for this season, and on my way to the post box I walked past a place where they sold Christmas trees. It smelled heavenly! It smelled like a real forest, not like the “forests” they have in this part of Sweden with only leafy trees! It smelled like the day before Christmas when my parents have me decorating the tree against my will every year, and like when I got lost in the forest by our summer cottage as a kid, and like walks at home during summer days. It was magical just to stand there and smell the trees and know that I will soon be going home to Norrland again. I miss it!

Santa, bring me dragon eggs!

There has been mail activity! :DCeciliaI got a Christmas card from my best friend this week, and she knows how to how to tick my boxes <3

EricaErica in Finland sent me a letter and two lovely church cards! I think she has a secret stash of church post cards somewhere ’cause she always finds me such nice ones :)

KatrinKatrin in Germany has crocheted me a super cozy cap! :D I love the colour combination, and it’s so warm and soft!  <3  I will not freeze my ears off this winter :D

YoshiAnd sweet Yoshi sent me a whole stationery store! O__O <3 Thank you so incredibly much, you crazy girl!

julkortI have been rather busy myself putting together the last stack of holiday cards. These are for my Swedish friends :)

outgoingAnd! I have finally had some time to write letters again :D These are going out tomorrow together with the holiday cards. I only have one letter to reply to at this very moment, but if I’m lucky the mailman brings me more tomorrow :)
